Miss Jamie Ballet - Terms & Conditions
1. Enrolment & Acceptance
- By completing and signing the registration/enrolment form for Miss Jamie Ballet, you (the parent/guardian or adult student) confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
- These terms apply to all classes, courses, private lessons, exams, and events provided by Miss Jamie Ballet at Prestfelde School.
2. Fees, Payment & Refunds
- Fees must be paid in full by the start of each term (or other billing period as advised), and before a student’s name is placed on the class register. Only students whose fees are paid will be admitted to class.
- New students may be offered a free trial class (or other introductory arrangement as agreed). Acceptance of the trial does not guarantee a place full payment is required to secure a spot.
- Once paid, fees are non-refundable, including in the event of absence, bad weather, or other circumstances beyond the school’s control.
- If you wish to withdraw your child or discontinue classes, written notice of at least half a term (e.g. 6 weeks) is required before the end of the current term; otherwise full fees for the next term may be charged.
- Miss Jamie Ballet reserves the right to adjust fees, class schedules, class times or term dates; in such cases, parents/guardians or students will be notified in advance.
3. Attendance, Punctuality & Behaviour
- Students should arrive in good time before class late arrivals may be refused entry, especially if warm-up or safety routines are missed.
- Students are expected to behave respectfully to teachers, assistants, other pupils, and follow teacher instructions at all times. Bullying, rudeness, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated and may lead to suspension or termination of enrolment without refund.
- Phone use, eating, chewing gum, or bringing anything into class other than water (unless agreed) is not allowed.
4. Uniform, Dress Code & Safety
- All students must wear correct dance uniform and appropriate footwear. Hair should be tied back (for ballet — a bun or neat hairstyle may be required). Jewellery, watches or loose accessories must be removed.
- Students should arrive ready to dance: hair tied up, no jewellery, water bottle, and any required items.
- Parents/guardians must ensure that any relevant medical conditions, allergies or physical needs are disclosed at enrolment (or as they arise), so that teachers can safeguard student welfare.
5. Supervision, Drop-Off & Collection (for under 18s)
- Miss Jamie Ballet is responsible for students only during their scheduled class time. Before and after class, the parent/guardian is responsible for their child.
- Children must be collected promptly after class. If a child is left unattended, the school cannot guarantee supervision or accept liability for any incident after class time.
- If you wish your child to leave unaccompanied, written parental consent is required.
6. Exams, Performances & Private Lessons
- If students participate in external examinations (e.g. ballet grades) or internal assessments/performances, additional fees may apply (e.g. exam entry, extra rehearsals, costume, etc.). These fees must be paid by the deadline set by Miss Jamie Ballet.
- Private 1-to-1 lessons must be pre-booked and paid for in advance. If a student fails to attend a pre-booked private lesson without giving prior notice, no refund will be given.
- Participation in exams or shows is optional, unless otherwise agreed; but Miss Jamie Ballet reserves the right to decide when a student is ready to enter an exam or join a performance, based on skill, attendance, and suitability.
7. Media, Photography & Privacy
- From time to time, Miss Jamie Ballet may wish to take photographs or video recordings of classes, performances, or promotional events. By enrolling, you consent to your child or yourself being included in such media, unless you explicitly opt-out in writing.
- Personal data (names, contact details, health information) collected at enrolment will be stored securely and not shared with third parties apart from where required for safety, safeguarding, or legal purposes.
8. Liability & Safety Disclaimer
- Dance involves physical activity and some risk of injury. While Miss Jamie Ballet will take all reasonable care, parents/guardians and adult students accept that they participate at their own risk.
- Miss Jamie Ballet does not accept liability for personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property brought to class, except where caused by proven negligence of the school.
- Any items lost or left on the premises are at the student’s own risk; the school will not be held responsible for lost or stolen items.
9. Termination & Right to Exclude
- Miss Jamie Ballet reserves the right to exclude any student from classes temporarily or permanently for breach of these Terms and Conditions, misconduct, disruptive behaviour, or any safety concerns. No refunds will be given in such cases.
- The school may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time; current terms will be shared with parents/guardians or adult students when changes occur. Continued attendance or enrolment constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Contact & Communication
- It is the responsibility of parents/guardians or adult students to keep contact details up to date, including phone number, email address, and emergency contact.
- All communications regarding classes, payments, exams, or changes will be done via the contact details provided.
